Number porting is the process of moving a telephone number from one calling carrier to another.

You can port out a HubSpot number that you own in your account, to a new calling carrier. This may be useful if you are moving to a new calling solution but want to retain the phone numbers you’ve been using in HubSpot.

To port your number out of HubSpot:

  • Contact the new calling provider you want to move your HubSpot phone number to. Request a “port in” of your HubSpot phone numbers.
  • The new calling provider should submit a “port out” request to HubSpot’s call carrier, Twilio.
  • Once the request is approved, the new calling provider should communicate directly with you about the port-out approval and next steps. All future communications about the date of the port-out, number usage, and more should be directed to the new calling provider.
  • After the port-out is complete, your HubSpot phone number won’t be available for use in your HubSpot account. Your account’s phone numbers will be reset. For example, if you have five HubSpot phone numbers available with your subscription and you port out three HubSpot phone numbers, you'll have three numbers available for you to configure a new HubSpot phone number.
