Set up and use the HubSpot connector for Claude

Use the HubSpot connector for Claude to bring HubSpot context into Claude for personalized AI insights, available on the web, desktop, and mobile versions of Claude.

Connect Claude's reasoning capabilities with HubSpot context to get customized responses to your Claude prompts. Or, visualize insights through different styles of charts and graphs to then take action inside HubSpot.

For example:

  • Marketing teams: ask to track time spent by HubSpot contacts in the last quarter in each lifecycle stage. 
  • Sales teams: ask for a summary of active deals organized by name, amount, and stage, and sorted by closing date.
  • Support teams: ask for all open tickets assigned to a rep, sorted by priority and creation date.
  • Customer success teams: ask to compare resolution approaches and outcomes across support channels to drive consistency and quality.

Before you get started

Before you begin working with the connector, make sure to fully understand what steps should be taken ahead of time, as well as the potential consequences of using it. 

Supported object types

The connector's scope is currently limited to read-only access. It can fetch the following core CRM objects, and their associations: 

  • Contacts
  • Companies
  • Deals
  • Tickets
  • Users
  • Line items
  • Quotes
  • Invoices
  • Orders
  • Carts
  • Products
  • Subscriptions
  • Lists

Set up the HubSpot connector for Claude

If you're a Super Admin or a user with App Marketplace permissions connecting for the first time:

  1. In your Claude account, select your profile icon in the bottom left. 
  2. Click Settings. On the left, click Connectors.
  3. Click Browse connectors.
  4. On the Web tab, select HubSpot.
  5. Click Add to your team. Close the dialog box.
  6. Return to the connectors page. 
  7. Click Connect next to HubSpot. In the dialog box, select and log in to the HubSpot account you’d like to use with Claude. 
  8. On the Connecting HubSpot Connector for Claude to HubSpot page, select the permissions that you want to allow for the connector. Then click Connect app

Please note: if you have already selected the allowed permissions for the connector and want to remove some of them at a later time, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the connector from the Connected Apps page in HubSpot. For the changes to affect users who have already installed the connector, they will also need to uninstall and reinstall the connector.

  1. After connecting, you’ll be redirected back to the Claude chat window. You can now use the connector.

To give users access to the connector: 

  1. In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Integrations > Connected Apps.
  2. Click the HubSpot connector for Claude
  3. On the Overview tab, in the top right, click Give users access

  1. Click Give Access to allow every user in your account to use the connector. 

After you've given access to other users, they can start connecting their Claude accounts to use the connector. 

Please note:
  • Once you give users access to the connector, this action cannot be undone. Even if you uninstall the connector from your account, the other users will still have access to it until they uninstall it themselves.
  • If you set up the connector before Aug. 28, 2025, your users were automatically given access to the connector. Therefore, the Give users access button will be grayed out in your account.

Use the HubSpot connector for Claude

  1. In your Claude chat window, in the bottom left, click Search and tools.
  2. Toggle the HubSpot switch on.
  3. Type your Claude prompt and press enter. Claude will use HubSpot context when responding.

Disconnect the HubSpot connector for Claude

  1. In your Claude account, select your profile icon in the bottom left. 
  2. Click Settings. On the left, click Connectors.
  3. Next to HubSpot, click the ellipses ellipses, then click Disconnect.

Data and privacy

How do I access the new objects? 

To get access to the new objects in the HubSpot connector for Claude, you'll need to disconnect and reauthenticate your HubSpot account. 

What HubSpot CRM data does the connector have access to?

When turned on for your organization, the connector gives Claude access to your HubSpot contacts, companies, deals, tickets, users, line items, quotes, invoices, orders, carts, products, subscriptions, and object lists and their associations by using natural language prompts to glean meaningful insights from your customer data.

Please note: associations are limited to the same set of objects listed above. Custom objects, unstructured data, and associated engagements are all not yet available.

Is my HubSpot data used to train Claude?

Anthropic does not use the data you share through HubSpot to train its models except in certain instances, like when a customer chooses to provide feedback or opts into training. Please refer to the terms (consumer & commercial) in your specific Anthropic plan.

How long does Claude retain or delete data?

After your data is shared with Claude, Anthropic’s Terms of Service apply (commercial or consumer, depending on your Anthropic plan). Visit Anthropic’s Trust Center to understand Anthropic’s data practices, including whether, and how long data is retained.

Do Anthropic audit logs offer added visibility for HubSpot admins?

Visit Anthropic’s help center, or contact their support team, to understand what visibility or logging features may be available through your specific plan.

Will the HubSpot connector for Claude respect my data localization preferences?

Your data center location will be respected as data is routed through HubSpot servers. For example, accounts hosted in the EU will have requests routed through the HubSpot EU data center. Once your data is in the Anthropic platform, the terms you have with Anthropic will govern where and how your data is processed in that tool. It’s recommended you review your Anthropic license terms (commercial or consumer, depending on your Anthropic plan) to understand where your data will be stored and processed.

How does the HubSpot connector for Claude handle user permissions?

The HubSpot connector for Claude automatically respects the user permissions defined in HubSpot. This means users will only see in Claude the CRM data they’re allowed to access in HubSpot. For example, individual sales reps will only see pipeline data for deals they have permission to view. Some CRM objects in HubSpot have customizable permissions. When access is limited to specific individuals or teams, Claude will only be able to view those same contacts. Learn more about HubSpot user permissions.

How do admin controls work for the HubSpot connector for Claude?

Only a Super Admin or a user with App Marketplace permissions can access the HubSpot connector at first. Once a Super Admin installs the connector, they can turn on access for other users.

  • Once a Super Admin turns on access for all users, their access can't be turned off globally.
  • Users are limited to permissions selected by a Super Admin. Once users connect, Super Admins cannot revoke these permissions.
  • Uninstalling the connector won't remove user-level access. Each user must uninstall individually.
  • If you connected before Aug. 28, 2025, all users already have access, and this setting is disabled.

What visibility into audit logs or real-time data do Super Admins have for this HubSpot connector for Claude?

Super Admins can use audit logs to see who has connected or reconnected the HubSpot connector for Claude to the account. They can also see the date and time of the connection. Anthropic has separate audit logging processes. Learn more about Anthropic’s audit logging.

Are there potential risks associated with the connector?

It’s recommended that you carefully read and understand both the terms that pertain to your HubSpot account, as well as the terms (consumer or commercial) in your specific Anthropic plan. You should always carefully evaluate the benefits and risks of any tooling you choose to use. 

How is customer or CRM data kept secure with the connector?

Can Anthropic copy customer CRM data or lists through the HubSpot connector for Claude? 

No, CRM data or customer lists can’t be copied through the HubSpot connector for Claude. HubSpot admins control organization access to the HubSpot connector for Claude. Once turned on, anyone in their organization can connect Claude to their unique HubSpot data to converse and gain context and insights.

Could using the HubSpot connector for Claude inadvertently enable competitors to gain insights into a company's CRM data or strategy?

Anthropic doesn't use data shared through HubSpot to train its models in most cases. But, there may be exceptions depending on your Anthropic plan. You should make sure you read and understand the terms of your license with Anthropic (commercial or consumer, depending on your Anthropic plan) to understand how your data is used, and Anthropic’s Trust Center.

Can external agencies or consultants with Super Admin access connect CRM data directly to Claude without additional oversight?

The HubSpot connector for Claude respects the permission access you’ve granted in your HubSpot account. If external agencies or consultants in your HubSpot account have Super Admin access, they can connect the HubSpot connector for Claude in your HubSpot account. After that, other users can connect their HubSpot user login. Review connection attempts in audit logs.

Does the HubSpot connector for Claude comply with privacy regulations, such as GDPR, particularly in the EU, and HIPAA in the U.S.?

Once you turn it on, the HubSpot connector for Claude has access to standard CRM records (contacts, companies, deals, tickets, users, line items, quotes, invoices, orders, carts, products, subscriptions, object lists, and their associations). It does not have access to custom Sensitive Data properties or any Sensitive Data covered services.

Your use of HubSpot Services is governed by HubSpot's Data Processing Agreement and Business Associate Agreement. Ultimately, you're best able to assess your compliance needs and how HubSpot fits into them.

Can Claude hallucinate or provide inaccurate data? What can customers do to protect against that? 

Claude can make mistakes. We recommend a few techniques for ensuring that the results produced by the HubSpot connector for Claude are accurate and reliable:

  • Make sure your connected account data is up to date and accurate.
  • Have a human review, refine, and fact-check the output.
  • Ask for citations and references for any important facts and assertions so that you can quickly and easily confirm them in your HubSpot account.
  • Never indiscriminately rely on any AI outputs to make important decisions.

Sensitive Data

Will the HubSpot connector for Claude have access to Sensitive Data?

The HubSpot connector for Claude doesn't provide access to custom Sensitive Data properties or sensitive content from other Sensitive Data covered services, including personal health information and other forms of Highly Sensitive Data. It has read-only access to standard records such as contacts, companies, deals, tickets, users, line items, quotes, invoices, orders, carts, products, subscriptions, object lists, and their associations.

Does the HubSpot connector for Claude support multiple languages?

Yes, the HubSpot connector for Claude works well in many languages and will respond in the language the user uses, if that language is supported. For the full list of supported languages, refer to Anthropic’s documentation about multilingual support and supported countries and regions.

Is this HubSpot connector for Claude available on the desktop, web, and mobile versions of Claude?

The HubSpot connector for Claude is available on desktop, web, and mobile versions of Claude, and uses the same connection steps for each.

What is the expected output if I ask Claude to draft content (e.g., an email campaign)? Will Claude‌ build out the emails, or will Claude suggest the copy in the Claude chat window?

It will either provide instructions on how to apply the drafted email content in HubSpot, or draft email content as part of the report. It won’t take any actions directly inside HubSpot.

Can Claude update my HubSpot data on my behalf?

The connector's scope is currently limited to read-only access. It can fetch core CRM objects limited to contacts, companies, deals, tickets, users, line items, quotes, invoices, orders, carts, products, subscriptions, object lists, and their associations within Claude, but it doesn't have the ability to edit the data in HubSpot. Their associations are limited to the same set of objects listed above. 

I'm a HubSpot partner who manages multiple HubSpot accounts. Can I connect a specific account to a Claude account?

You can only connect one HubSpot account at a time to a single Claude account. To work with a different HubSpot account, you’ll need to disconnect the current one and reconnect the desired account within Claude. While you can’t manage multiple connections simultaneously, you can manually switch between accounts by disconnecting one and connecting to the other.

Does the HubSpot connector for Claude require impeccable data management (i.e. most of your database tagged by persona?)

While clean and well-organized data improves the quality of insights, the HubSpot connector for Claude does not require perfectly tagged data. It works with contacts, companies, deals, tickets, users, line items, quotes, invoices, orders, carts, products, subscriptions, object lists, offering useful analysis even if your CRM data isn’t perfectly structured.
