In board view, you can manage your deal, ticket, and custom object records in pipelines. You can customize the board and its cards to display the information that best suits your business needs. For example, you can choose to show the last activity date and ticket owner on each ticket card, or display colored tags that categorize your deals.
Customize the properties displayed on board cards
You can customize the properties that appear on board cards when viewing deals, tickets, or custom object records in board view. Once selected, a record's value for each property will appear on the board cards in the pipeline. If you're in an account with a Professional or Enterprise subscription, you can also select unique properties for each pipeline.
Users must have Account and Edit property settings permissions to customize the pipeline board cards.
-
In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
-
In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Objects, then select Deals, Tickets, or Custom objects.
-
Click the Pipelines tab.
- If your account has a Professional or Enterprise subscription, click the Select a pipeline dropdown menu, then select the pipeline that you want to edit cards for, or select Create a pipeline to create and customize board cards for a new pipeline.
- Click Customize board and card view. For accounts with a Starter subscription, the customization will apply to all of the object's pipelines. For accounts with a Professional or Enterprise subscription, the customization will only apply to the selected pipeline.
Please note: if you downgrade from a Professional or Enterprise subscription to Starter or free tools, board cards for all existing pipelines will be reset to display the default properties. You can then customize the board card properties for all the object's pipelines, but you'll no longer be able to customize for each individual pipeline. Learn more about pipeline limits based on your subscription.
- In the right panel, you can preview how the card will appear in the board view. The primary display property for each object (e.g., Deal Name, Ticket Name) will appear by default and cannot be changed.
- To replace a property on the card, click the dropdown menu, then select a property.
- To add a property, click Add property, then click the dropdown menu and select the property you want to add. You can include up to four properties.
- To remove a property from the card, click the delete delete icon next to the property.
- To change the order of the properties, click and drag a property to the desired location.
-
Click Save. This configuration will now be applied to all pipelines (Starter) or the individual pipeline (Professional and Enterprise only).
Please note: when viewing records in board view, if a record doesn't have a value for a selected property, the property will not appear on the card for that record.
Edit the appearance of board cards in a pipeline
You can edit how your pipelines appear by customizing the card style and selecting which information to show on board cards, including properties, association icons, and activity.
- Navigate to the pipeline view you want to customize.
- Click Board options in the top right of the board.
- Select Edit cards.
- To update the style of board cards, select an option, either Default or Compact. The Default style shows the property names and their values, while the Compact style only shows the property values.
- To show the record's priority and icons of associated records on deal and ticket cards, select the Display priority and associated records checkbox.
- To show object tags on deal or ticket cards, select the Display tags checkbox. Learn more about setting up object tags (Starter, Professional, and Enterprise only).
- To show the next and last activity information for deals and tickets, toggle the [Deal/ticket] activity information switch on. Activities include notes, calls, tracked one-to-one emails, meetings, tasks, and chats. This information will only be shown for open deals or tickets with active cards.
- To differentiate between deals/tickets that are active or inactive, toggle the Inactive cards switch on. With this setting turned on, cards will be grey if the record hasn't had a logged activity after a specific amount of time. To set the time frame for which a deal or ticket should be marked inactive, enter a number, then select a unit of time (e.g., mark a ticket inactive if no activity after 5 days). The last activity will always appear on inactive cards.
- Once you're done, click Save.

Customize amount and currency formatting for deals in board view
For deals, you can edit the deal amount properties shown in board view and select where the amount summary is displayed. You can also customize preferred currencies and currency formatting for deal amounts.
Edit the deal stage amount summary
For each deal stage, you can select whether to show the Weighted amount or Average amount in addition to the Total amount. You can also customize whether this amount summary is displayed at the top or bottom of the board.

- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Objects > Deals.
- Click the Pipelines tab.
- If your account has a Professional or Enterprise subscription, click the Select a pipeline dropdown menu, then select the pipeline that you want to edit, or select Create a pipeline to create and customize a new pipeline.

-

-
- If you've previously removed the secondary summary property, click + Add more, then select an option in the dropdown menu.
- To show or hide an icon that indicates whether a deal stage has a workflow, click to toggle the Workflow indicator switch on or off.
- Once you're done, click Save.
Set a preferred currency and currency formatting
To customize your deal pipeline view, you can choose how each stage's amount values are displayed, as well as set your own preferred currency when viewing deals.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Deals.
- Select the pipeline and view you want to customize.
- Click Board options in the top right of the board.
- Select Edit board.
- By default, deal amounts in pipeline columns are simplified so that the Total and Weighted amounts are rounded up to the nearest integer (e.g., $210 instead of $209.75) and values over one million are abbreviated (e.g., $1M instead of $1,000,000). To view the exact deal amounts instead, toggle the Show formatted amounts on the board switch off.
- To set a preferred currency for viewing deals (Starter, Professional, and Enterprise only), click the Preferred currency dropdown menu, then select a currency. If you choose to view your preferred currency in the board, each deal stage's Total and Weighted amounts will be converted to your selected currency.
- Once you've updated the settings, click Save.
