Add contacts without an email address to the CRM

There are two ways to add contacts to the CRM without an email address. These contacts will still count towards the contacts limit for your account.

Please note: although it is possible to add contacts to the CRM without an email address, it is not generally recommended because HubSpot uses the email address to deduplicate contacts and automatically associate contacts with companies.

Create a single contact without an email address

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Contacts > Contacts.
  • Click Create contact in the upper right.
  • In the dialog box, enter at least a First name for this contact, then click Create contact

Please note: if your account administrator has set the Email field as Required, you'll need to include this field when creating a contact.

Import multiple contacts without email addresses

You can also import contacts without email addresses into HubSpot by excluding the Email column from your import file.
