As you may know, one way to create contacts in your HubSpot portal is to simply import a list of such. When these first time contacts are imported, they are assigned the Original Source Type of 'Offline'. However, after import HubSpot will begin to track them when:

  1. They convert on a HubSpot or HubSpot connected form OR
  2. They click through a HubSpot Marketing email message that directs them to a HubSpot page or external, non-HubSpot page that has the HubSpot tracking code.

Once HubSpot begins to track them, lead intelligence is collected as they progress through your marketing funnel.
