To get started organizing your data in HubSpot, you can apply data model templates that automatically create objects, properties, pipelines, and associations relevant to your industry. By using a template, you can skip the manual work of setting up your data model, allowing you to more efficiently and reliably track data in your CRM database.

Once objects are created, you can review their details and enable or disable them from your account's object library.

Available templates

At this time, the following data model templates are available:

  • Real estate: for real estate companies, such as agencies and property management firms, that work with real estate listings. This template recommends activating the Listings object and associating it with contacts. It also includes recommended custom properties and deal pipelines for renting, buying, and selling.
  • Healthcare (Enterprise only): for healthcare organizations that work with healthcare services and patients. This template recommends activating the Appointments and Services objects with custom properties and adding new custom properties for contacts.
  • Education: for schools, colleges, universities, and other educational organizations. This template recommends activating the Courses object and associating it with contacts. It also includes custom properties and association labels for Contact-to-Contact and Contacts-to-Courses associations.

Use a data model template

To apply a template:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Data Model.
  • Click Define data model with templates.

  • In the right panel, select a template, then click Next.

Please note: if you cannot select the Healthcare template, you must turn on Health/Medical Data in your sensitive data settings.

  • Review the recommendations, and make changes if needed:
    • By default, all recommendations are set to Activated or Included. This means the recommendation will be added to your account once the template is applied.
    • To leave out a recommended change, clear the [Activated/Included] checkbox. For example, you may want to activate a new object but don't want to include a suggested property.

  • Once you're done, click Next.
  • Review the changes that'll be made to your account, then click Confirm.
  • A banner will appear letting you know the template was applied successfully. To view more information about an object created or impacted by the template, click the Settings link.

  • Once you're finished, click Done.

You can now use the objects, properties, pipelines, and associations created by the template. You can also view and manage them in the data model overview or object library.

View the object library

To understand and manage the objects in your account:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, under Data Management, navigate to Object Library.

An object is activated if the checkbox is selected and the card is highlighted. This means the object is shown in your data model overview and you can create records, properties, and associations for the object. You can also use the object in the HubSpot tools listed in the Activated objects are used in all tools listed box to the right.

  • To view more details about an object, on the object card, click Details. In the right panel:
    • On the Properties tab, view all the object's properties.
    • On the Associations, view the objects with which its records can be associated.
  • To activate an object, select the checkbox. In the text box, review the tools in which the object will be available, then click Confirm to activate. The object will be created, but if you'd like to also set up the suggested properties, associations, and pipelines, you should apply the relevant template (e.g., the Healthcare template for the Appointments object).
  • To deactivate an object, clear the checkbox. In the dialog box, review the tools in which the object will be hidden, then click Confirm to deactivate. The object, its records, associations, properties, and pipelines will be hidden but can be reactivated and restored.

Please note: you cannot deactivate contacts, companies, deals, or tickets.
