Analyze form performance with form submission reports

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Form submission reports show how your forms are performing by tracking submission data and trends across your forms. Use these preconfigured reports to monitor submission activity, compare performance, and identify which forms generate the most conversions. For example, use these reports to compare submission volume by web page or track submissions for new versus existing contacts.

Permissions required  

  • View forms permissions are required to access form submission data.
  • Reports access is required to view, create, or edit dashboards and reports.

Before you get started

To generate report insights with Breeze Assistant, HubSpot’s AI conversational assistant, turn on the Give users access to Breeze Assistant setting.

Review form submission reports

Form submission reports show how your forms are performing by tracking form submission data and trends for the selected date range. 

To access form submission reports:

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.

  2. At the top, click the Analyze tab.

Use the following reports to monitor form performance, compare results across forms, and identify areas for optimization.

Report Description
Form overview Review overall form performance with count of form submission metadata, conversion rate, and count of form views.
Form submission counts Track submissions received for each form to identify which forms generate the most conversions. 
Form submissions over time Track submissions across forms over time to identify trends and changes in performance. Use this data to identify peak submission periods and monitor how your lead generation efforts are performing.
Form submissions over time broken down by form name Track submissions for individual forms. Click form names to display or hide forms displayed in the report.
Form submissions by pages Track submissions by page title to identify which web pages are most effective at converting visitors. 
Form submissions over time broken down by page Track submissions over time by web page. Monitor trends or performance changes to identify high-performing pages and help you optimize underperforming pages.
Form submissions by contact lifecycle stage Track submissions by contact lifecycle stages to monitor which forms are being completed by contacts at different stages of the customer journey. Use this data to understand engagement patterns and optimize your form strategy for different audience segments.
Form submissions by new vs existing contacts Track submissions by visitor type to monitor submissions from new contacts versus existing contacts for each form. Use this data to understand which forms are capturing new leads versus engaging your existing contacts.
Form submission totals View top-performing forms based on the number of submissions in the last 30 days. Track the form views and conversion rates for each form. 

Please note: if a single contact submits the same form multiple times, the submission count may be higher than the number of unique contacts who submitted the form.

Filter or edit a report 

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.

  2. At the top, click the Analyze tab.
  3. To filter the report data, at the top, select from the following quick filters:
    • Date range: filter based on the date that the form was submitted. 
    • Form name: filter based on specific form names. 
    • Contact lifecycle stage: filter based on the different stages of the contact’s lifecycle. 
    • Marketing campaign: filter based on the campaign the form is associated with. 
  4. To apply a custom filter, at the top, click Advanced filters.
    • Click + Add filter.
    • Search for or select your property.
    • In the dropdown menu, select the filter criteria.
    • At the bottom, click Apply filter
  5. To edit an individual report, hover over the report and click the filter View and filter icon. Learn how to use the report viewer

Save a report 

Save individual form submission reports to your report library or another dashboard. 

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.
  2. At the top, click the Analyze tab.
  3. Hover over the report and click the filter View and filter icon.
  4. At the bottom of the report viewer, click Save report.
  5. In the right panel, configure the following report details:
    • Enter a report name.
    • Enter a description of the report. 
    • Under Add this report to a dashboard, select the radio button to confirm whether you'd like to add the report to a dashboard:
      • Don't add to dashboard: your report won't be added to a dashboard. Instead, it'll be saved in your report library so you can use it later.
      • Add to existing dashboard: you can select an existing dashboard to add the report to. When you select this option, you can select the dashboard from the dropdown menu
      • Add to new dashboard: you can create a new custom dashboard and add the form report to the new dashboard. When you select this option, you'll be prompted to enter a dashboard name in the following step.
    • In the bottom right, click Next or Save & add if you’re adding the report to an existing dashboard. 
    • If you aren’t adding the report to a dashboard, or you’re creating a new dashboard, under Who can access this report, select the radio button to set the report access
      • Reports that are added to existing dashboards will be controlled by the dashboard's access settings. 
  6. In the bottom right, click Save or Save & add if you're adding the report to a dashboard. 

Create a custom dashboard using form reports

Create custom dashboards using the preconfigured form submission reports.

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Forms. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Forms directly.
  2. At the top, click the Analyze tab.
  3. In the top right, click Actions and select Save dashboard

  1. In the right panel, under Reports included in this dashboard, all available form reports are selected by default. Clear the checkboxes next to reports that you don't want to include in the new dashboard. 
  2. At the bottom right, click Next.
  3. Enter a dashboard name.
  4. Under Who can access this dashboard?, select the radio button to specify the users or teams that can access the new dashboard.
