Copy partner assets to client accounts

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

As a HubSpot Solutions Partner, you can create assets in your own account, then copy those assets to your clients' accounts. This is helpful for creating reusable assets that can be sent to multiple clients.

Before you get started

Review the requirements, limitations and considerations of copying partner assets before you begin the process.

Understand requirements

  • You must be a Partner Admin in the client's account.
  • You must not be listed as a contractor in your partner account.
  • You and your client must both operate in the same region.
  • Before transferring an asset, make sure that you own it or have all necessary rights and permissions to copy and use it.

Understand limitations and considerations

  • Once an asset is copied to a client account, it becomes independent from the original asset. To share any changes with the client, you'll need to copy the original asset again.
  • For each asset, all dependencies must be copied in order for the copying to succeed. For example, if a workflow enrolls contacts based on form submission, both the form and workflow must be copied in order for the workflow to copy to the client account.

Understand what will be copied

For each asset that you select, the following asset features will be copied to client accounts:

  • Agents: custom agent templates, including only their objective, actions, and input.
  • Workflows: workflows not created in Agent Hub.
  • Forms: form names and form fields.
  • Marketing emails: automated marketing emails.
  • Segments: names and filter criteria.
  • Custom objects: object and custom properties associated with that object.

Copy assets to a client account

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Partner > Client Access Manager. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Partner > Client Access Manager directly.
  2. Next to the client, click Copy assets in the Copy assets to client portal column.
  3. Select the checkbox next to each type of asset you want to copy, then review what data will be copied.
  4. In the bottom right, click Next.
  5. Select the checkbox next to each asset you want to copy. To switch between asset types, click the asset name in the Supported asset types section.

  1. In the bottom right, click Next.
  2. Any connected assets that are required for the assets you've selected will automatically be included in the copy. For example, if a workflow sends a marketing email, that marketing email will be included even if you haven't selected it. Review these connected assets, then click Next in the bottom right.
  3. Review any conflicts that would prevent the copy from going through, such as trying to copy workflows to a client account that doesn't have access to that feature. Then click Next in the bottom right.
  4. Review the assets that will be copied, then click Start copy in the bottom right.

You can monitor the progress of the copying process in the copy history for that client account.

Review copy history

For clients that you manage, you can review the history of all assets copied to that client account.

  1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Partner > Client Access Manager. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Partner > Client Access Manager directly.
  2. Next to the client, click View copy history.
  3. Review how many assets were copied, which user copied them, when they were copied, and whether the copying was successful.
  4. To view the exact assets in a copy event, click the value in the Copy status column.
