Create a conversation-based workflow (BETA)

Create a conversation-based workflow to automate your conversations processes. For example, build a workflow to send a follow-up email to a contact when a conversation has ended.

Conversation-based workflows can enroll conversations and contacts by properties. 

To create a conversation-based workflow:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  • In the upper right, click Create workflow.
  • In the left panel of the workflow setup page, select Conversation-based

  • At the top of the page, click the pencil icon edit to give your workflow a name, then click Next. You'll then be brought to the workflow editor.
  • To set your enrollment triggers:
    • At the top of the workflow, click Set enrollment triggers.
    • In the right panel, select Conversation or Contact to choose the type of property you want to enroll on.
    • Continue setting the enrollment triggers in the right panel. 
  • To add actions to your workflow:

Please note: you can't currently set conversations properties, such as Assignee, with a conversation-based workflow.
