Migrating from the legacy Stripe integration for quotes to Stripe payment processing

HubSpot’s legacy Stripe integration will be sunsetting on November 4th, 2024. The new Stripe Payment Processing integration supports 19 currencies, and is integrated across the full payment platform.

Migrating from the legacy Stripe integration

There are several options for merchants that need to transition off the legacy Stripe integration. 

For merchants only using the legacy Stripe integration

You can upgrade to the latest version by:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Commerce > Quotes.

  • Click on an existing draft quote or click Create quote.

  • Click Next until you reach the Signature & Payment section.
  •  Select Stripe (legacy) as the payment option, then click Upgrade now.

  • Choose your new payment processing option on the next screen, then click Next to continue onboarding.

Please note: if choosing HubSpot Payments you will not be able to create payable quotes until your approval is complete. It's recommended to complete enrollment in Commerce Hub first, then migrating using these steps.

For merchants already using the Stripe Payment Processing integration with the same account as their legacy Stripe integration

To migrate away from the legacy version:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Commerce > Quotes.

  • Click on an existing draft quote or click Create quote.

  • Click Next until you reach the Signature & Payment section.

  • Select Stripe as the payment processor, then click Automatically migrate my quotes.

For merchants that have conflicting accounts connected between the legacy Stripe integration and HubSpot’s other payment provider options

It is only possible to have one payment account connected to HubSpot. You may encounter a conflict during this process and will need to decide which account to use moving forward. If you decide to use an account other than the one currently connected to HubSpot's other tools, you will need to disconnect it, then reconnect it to move forward.

Before migrating your account, you may be asked to provide additional information to our underwriting team, or may have previously been rejected for HubSpot payments. Please check the email used in your HubSpot payments application for a letter from HubSpot's underwriting team. If you have been rejected, you will not be able to use HubSpot payments and will need to follow the instructions for disconnecting your payments account below.

Disconnecting a payment processor

Please note: If your account is using HubSpot payments, and you would like to disconnect it as your payment processor during this process, please follow these steps.

To disconnect the payment processor from HubSpot:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Payments.
  • Click Actions in the upper right, then select Disconnect Stripe.

Please note: upon upgrading your quoting experience, any Stripe legacy quotes previously published and live, will be updated to use the new integration’s checkout links. This ensures any quotes you’ve previously published remain payable by your buyers after the sunset date.

If you are on the EU platform for our legacy Stripe integration

You'll need to upgrade your account. To upgrade:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Commerce > Quotes.

  • Click on an existing draft quote or click Create quote.

  • Click Next until you reach the Signature & Payment section.
  • Select Stripe as the payment processor, then click Explore Stripe.

  • You'll be directed to Commerce Hub. Click Get started for free.

  • Choose Stripe as your payment processor, then click Next to continue onboarding.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change accounts or processors as part of this change?

If you would like to move to HubSpot Payments as part of this change, you'll need to complete the HubSpot Payments enrollment.

Once your application has been reviewed and approved by our team you can then begin your migration.

What will happen on November 4th, 2024, if my public quotes are not upgraded?

Any quotes using the legacy Stripe integration will have the checkout box removed and will be marked unpayable on November 4th, 2024.
