Manage companies in the sales workspace

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

If you have an assigned Sales Hub seat you can view and manage your companies in the sales workspace. You can assign existing company records and tag them as target accounts. You can keep track of the accounts you or your team want to work on and quickly filter through these accounts to identify next steps.

Before accessing target accounts in the sales workspace, you'll need to set it up.

Add companies

To add companies in the sales workspace:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospects tab.
  2. On the left side panel, click Companies.
  3. In the upper right, click Create company.
  4. In the right panel, add the company info.
  5. If you'd like to tag this company record as a target account, click the Target Account dropdown menu and select True.

Filter companies

To filter companies with default views:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospects tab.
  2. On the left side panel, click Companies and select from the following filter presets:
    • All companies: All companies owned by you, defined by the Owner Property setting in the Sales Workspace settings.
    • All target accounts: target accounts owned by you.
    • No decision maker: companies owned by you and with Number of decision makers equal to zero.
    • No activities: companies owned by you and with Last Booked Meeting Date, Last Logged Outgoing Email Date, and Last Logged Call Date all unknown.
    • No open deals: companies owned by you and with Number of open deals equal to zero.

To filter companies with a custom view:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospects tab.
  2. On the left side panel, click Companies.
  3. On the Companies tab, click Create view.
  4. In the dialog box, enter a Name, then click Create view.
  5. Above the table, customize the quick filters.
  6. Click Advanced filters to further customize your filters.
  7. To edit the information that's displayed in the table, click Edit columns.
  8. When you are finished, click Save view.

Add target accounts

When you add a target account, you can monitor and analyze the companies' data on your target accounts index page. You can mark companies as target accounts by updating the Target account property to True. This can be done in the following ways:

When you add a new target account, these company records will now have a Target Account property value of True.

In the future, if you want to remove a target account, update their Target Account property to False in their record directly, in the relevant index pages, through an import, or via a workflow.

To manually assign existing company records as target accounts:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Target accounts page, view a list of your target accounts. 
  3. In the upper right, click Choose target accounts.
  4. In the right panel, on the In CRM tab:
    • To search all companies in your CRM, in the Source section, select All companies in CRM
    • To filter your companies by a list, in the Source section, select Companies from a list. In the Select a list dropdown menu and select a list.
    • To filter your companies by target markets, toggle the Filter by companies in my target markets switch on. Click Add target market to add a new target market.
    • To refresh your search results, click Find companies.
    • Search for the company you want to target and select the checkbox for the company.
      • To select all the companies on a page, click the checkbox next to companies.
      • To select all companies in the search results, click Select all X companies in the bottom right. In the dialog box, click Select companies. It may take a few minutes for the companies to be assigned as target accounts.
    • When you're finished, click Select accounts. The selected accounts will be added to your view. 

Please note: these companies must have been created, before you can select them as target accounts.

Filter target accounts

Once you have added target accounts, you can view, filter, and edit them from within the sales workspace.

To filter target accounts with default views:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Target accounts tab, select from the following filter presets:
    • All target accounts: target accounts owned by you.
    • No decision maker: target accounts owned by you and Number of decision makers is zero.
    • No activities: target accounts owned by you and Last Booked Meeting DateLast Logged Outgoing Email Date, and Last Logged Call Date are unknown.
    • No open deals: target accounts owned by you and Number of open deals is zero.

To filter target accounts with a custom saved view:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Target accounts tab, click Create view.
  3. In the dialog box, enter a name, then click Create view.
  4. Above the table, click the quick filters.
  5. Click Advanced filters to further customize your filters.
  6. To edit the information that's displayed in the table, click Edit columns.
  7. When you are finished, click Save view.

Research or edit companies

To research companies using the prospecting agent (BETA) or to edit the companies:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Companies page, select a view.
  3. To research or edit companies in bulk:
    • Click the checkboxes next to the target accounts, then click one of the following options:
      • Start research: uses the prospecting agent to research the company and display insights on the Research tab of the target account. 
      • Edit: Click the dropdown, then Select a property to update. Enter the edited information, then click Update. You can also edit information directly from the table.
  • To research companies in the table:

View a company

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Companies page, select a view.
  3. Click the name of a company.
  4. In the right panel, you can view and edit information about the company.
  5. In the bottom right of the right panel, click View record to view the full company record.
  6. To close the company click X in the upper right.
  7. To customize the view, click Actions in the upper right corner and then click Customize Sidebar.

Summary

On the Summary tab, you can view details about the company.

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Companies page, select a view.
  3. Click the name of a company.
  4. In the Data Highlights, view contacts associated with the target account, emails, logged calls, and meetings in the activity table. Click the dropdown to change the timeframe.
  5. In the Breeze record summary, view a company summary generated by Breeze. To ask Copilot questions, click Ask a question. The Copilot chat will open where you can enter additional prompts.
  6. In the About this company section, you can view and edit properties for the company. You can also edit properties in bulk from the Companies table.
  7. In the Deals section, view any associated deals.

Research Agent

On the Insights tab, you can review research from opting to start research or from using the prospecting agent (BETA).

People

On the People tab, you can view details about contacts and HubSpot users who are associated with the company.

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Companies page, select a view.
  3. Click the name of a company.
  4. In the right panel, click People. Below you can view:
  5. To take an action like sending an email or enrolling the contact in a sequence, hover over the contact, click Actions, then select an option:
  6. Select the Buying roles checkbox to only view contacts in buying roles.
  7. In the top right, click + Add contact to associate a new or existing contact with the target account.

Review company activities

On the Activities tab, you can view and filter the activities associated with the company.

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Sales > Sales Workspace. Then click the Prospecting tab.
  2. On the Companies page, select a view.
  3. Click the name of a company.
  4. In the right panel, click Activities
  5. Enter a term in the search bar to search for a specific activity. 
  6. To view specific activity types, click the Filter by dropdown menu, then select or clear the checkboxes next to the desired activities.
  7. To expand or collapse an activity, click the rightright arrow to expand and the down down arrow to collapse. To expand or collapse all activities on the card, click Collapse all, then select Expand all or Collapse all.
  8. To edit an activity, expand the activity, then edit its details.
  9. To view all details for an activity, expand the activity.
