Setting up effective marketing automation takes time and thoughtful planning. Whether you are apprehensive about setting up your first workflow or just looking to save time, you may want to check out some of HubSpot’s pre-designed workflows using Workflow Recipes. These recipes include pre-built with lists, emails, and automation, so you don’t have to worry about setting this up on your own. They are designed to not only help first-time workflow users, but also provide time-saving templates to veteran workflow masters. Once you have installed a recipe, all that is left to do is to customize the assets and activate your workflow.

Navigate to Workflows

From your HubSpot Marketing Dashboard, navigate to Contacts > Workflows.

Select 'Workflow Recipes'

You’ll see a Workflow Recipes button at the top of your Workflows Dashboard to get started.

Choose a recipe

From here, you'll see that there are 6 different recipes to choose from:

Subscriber Nurturing

This recipe is designed to convert Subscribers into Leads. It gathers all contacts at the Subscriber lifecycle stage and sends them automated emails in an attempt to turn them into Leads.

Lead Nurturing

This recipe is designed to convert Leads into Marketing Qualified Leads. It provides Leads with marketing offers that weed out unqualified buyers and strengthen your relationship with those most likely to buy from you.

Sales Notification

This recipe is designed to notify your sales team about newly converted Marketing Qualified Leads, and helps you strike while the iron is hot.

Customer Nurturing

This recipe is designed to convert new customers into more engaged members of your community.

Evangelist Nurturing

This recipe is designed to encourage active evangelists to share your content on social sharing sites.

Data Cleanup

This recipe is designed to clean up nonstandard form field entries from the “company name” property and set them to a standard value. You can use this workflow as a template to change any of your contact properties to a standard value.

Add this recipe

Each recipe is designed to nurture your contacts further down the funnel, to keep engaging your promoters, or to help you cleanup your data. You can quickly add each recipe into your portal by clicking to Add this recipe.

It can take a few moments to create all the assets that are included with your recipe.

Customize the content of your recipe assets

Once your recipe is done cooking, click View Workflow.

You will be brought to the overview of that workflow, where you can customize the various steps, actions and assets.

If you want to customize a step, like you will want to in the sales notification workflow because you'll want to change the email address to send an internal notification to your sales rep or team, click the step you want to change to edit.

Take your workflow live

Once the workflow recipe is added and you've made any edits you desire, the only thing you’ll want to do is review the workflow to understand its intent and customized its assets, such as the Evangeslist Nurturing automated email. When ready, toggle the switch ON to activate the workflow.
