Does email opt-out status sync from HubSpot to Salesforce?

Email opt-out status syncs between HubSpot and Salesforce by default. You can see the field mapping on the Contact Field Mappings screenThis mapping is uneditable in order to comply with CAN-SPAM laws.

  • When a contact opts out from a HubSpot email or has the 'hasoptedoutofemail' checkbox checked in Salesforce, the other system will be updated.
  • If a contact is already unsubscribed from HubSpot, unchecking the checkbox will not opt them back in.
  • The only way for a contact to opt back in is to do so from the link contained in a HubSpot email.
  • If a contact is not currently syncing between HubSpot and Salesforce (e.g. because of an inclusion list), the opt-out status will not update the other system until the contact syncs.
