How do I change the language of the error messages for my form?

Last updated: December 13, 2016

By default, the form validation messages that appear if a user doesn't fill out a required field, or if they do not use the proper format for the data in a field will be displayed in English.

If you wish to change the language of those validation errors, you can do so in the Forms editor:

  • Navigate to Contacts > Forms.
  • Click on the name of the form for which you want to change the language of the validation error messages to edit the form.
  • Switch to the Options tab at the top left of the Forms editor.
  • Under the Error message language, choose the desired language from the dropdown > Save form.

If you don't see your language available for selection, you can leave a suggestion for our team to add that language by navigating to the "Help" button in the bottom right of your page while logged into HubSpot and select "I'd like to make a suggestion". Alternatively, you can use the form embed code customization to customize the embed validation error message text.
