How do I ensure existing contacts that meet a workflow's enrollment triggers are enrolled once the workflow is activated?

Depending on the criteria you select for your workflow's enrollment triggers, some of your existing contacts may qualify for enrollment. To ensure that the existing contacts that qualify for your workflow are enrolled:

  • Navigate to workflows:
    • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
    • In your HubSpot Sales Hub Professional account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  • Click Create workflow
  • Name your workflow and select the type, then click Create workflow.
  • From within the workflow editor, set the desired enrollment triggers.
  • Select the checkbox Enroll contacts who already meet these criteria.

  • Click Save.
  • Once you have added actions to your workflow, click Review at the top right of the workflow.
  • You'll see the option to enroll existing contacts who meeting the starting criteria again in case you missed selecting it in the step above. Click Edit to enable this setting. You will also be able to review other settings before activating the workflow.


  • When ready, click Activate.
