How do I copy my lead qualification contact property into a company property?

In your HubSpot account, you have access to a few properties that help you to qualify your contacts and determine who is most engaged in your marketing and sales efforts. This information allows you to prioritize the leads your marketing passes along to sales and to determine which of your marketing and sales efforts are most effective. These properties are as follows:

  • HubSpot Score (Marketing Professional and Enterprise accounts only)this property is set by the manual lead scoring tool in your HubSpot Marketing account. 
  • Predictive Lead Score (Marketing Enterprise accounts only): this property is set by the predictive lead scoring tool in your HubSpot Marketing account. 
  • Predictive Close Probability (Sales Professional accounts only)this property is set automatically in your HubSpot Sales account based on demographic, firmographic, and behavioral information. Learn more here
  • Predictive Close Tier (Sales Professional accounts only)this property is set automatically in your HubSpot Sales account based on demographic, firmographic, and behavioral information. Learn more here

If you'd like to copy one of these properties from a contact to their associated company, you can do so using the workflows tool.

  • First, you'll need to create a new custom company property to correspond with the qualification property you're trying to copy. To do so, navigate to your contact properties.
    • In your HubSpot Marketing Professional or Enterprise account, navigate to Contacts Contacts Settings
    • In your HubSpot Sales Professional account, navigate to Contacts. Click the Customize dropdown menu and select Edit properties
  • Click the Company properties tab, then click the button at the top to Create a property.

  • Create your new property, making sure to select Number in the Field type dropdown menu. For more information on creating properties, check out this article.

Please note:  you may see an existing HubSpot Score company property in your account. Please do not use this property; instead, create a new custom company property.

  • Once you've created your custom company property, navigate to the workflows tool.
    • In your HubSpot Marketing Professional or Enterprise account, navigate to Contacts Workflows.
    • In your HubSpot Sales Professional account, navigate to Sales Tools Workflows
  • Click the name of your existing workflow or click New workflow and set up your new workflow.
  • Click the plus (+) icon to add a new action where you'd like this step to occur in your workflow.
  • In the Select an action pane on the right, scroll down to the Contact properties section and select Copy a contact property value.

  • Set up the action:
    • In the Source contact property dropdown menu, select the qualification contact property you'd like to copy (HubSpot Score, Predictive Lead Score, Predictive Close Probability, or Predictice Close Tier). 
    • In the Target property type dropdown menu, select Company property.
    • In the Target property dropdown menu, select your newly created custom company property.

  • Click Save.
  • Add any additional actions as needed, then click the switch at the top of your workflow to turn it on. For more information on setting up workflows, check out this article
